So while fires are destroying lives in Los Angeles, and people all over the country are trying to help, Trump takes to social media to once again politicize a crisis.

First of all… “Newscum”? Yeah, that’s very mature there Donny. Anyway, there is no water to “flow into” California from the north because the “snow melt” is already IN California, which is where the mountains are and beyond that, there’s desert.
The ONLY source of water that flows INTO California is from the Colorado River which is already so tapped by every thirsty state in the Southwest that the river doesn’t even reach the sea anymore.
But here’s what really stands out… this “water restoration declaration” that Trump says “Newscum” refused to sign doesn’t even exist! It’s totally made up! And when Politifact pressed for clarification, Trump’s transition team refused to comment.
Later, a Trump spokesman sent an email to Politifact, explaining that he was referring to a plan from Trump’s first term that would have directed more water from from the federal Central Valley Project to farmers in the San Joaquin Valley. This was the plan that Newsome opposed because it would have endangered what Trump is calling a “worthless fish” which is nevertheless on the endangered species list.
But here’s where Trump’s argument turn out to be such bullshit. If you’re giving more water to the farmers they are NOT going to store it to save homes in LA. They are going to use it. If you have ever driven though that valley like I have, you will notice the abundance of signs related to an ongoing water war that’s been going on for decades.
Farmers use up the water and whatever is left is usually polluted. Obviously they need water to grow crops but people in the cities also need water to drink and for things like fighting fires. So this has been a long standing conflict with no easy answers and while Trump’s plan might have given him votes from California farmers it would NOT have put water in the fire hydrants and reserviours like he is suggesting.
Then again, Trump was blaming California during the 2017 fires for not cleaning up the forests, when 90% of those fires were actually on federal land that HE was responsible for. So I guess you have to consider the source.
